The Art of City Making Residency

CCharles has been thinking through how to make the ideas and practices of creative city making more accessible, useful, and alive for those shaping our shared future. The launch of the ‘Art of City Making Residency’ seeks to provide that opportunity.

It will be first in a series of in-depth retreats mostly hosted in partnership with WRLD CTY  It will be held at Hawkwood – the Centre for Future Thinking in Stroud near where Charles lives

Dates afternoon 4th -7th November.

Future programmes will be held in Jaipur in January 2026, a second with the School of Design at the Polytechnic of Milano in February 2026; Farm Cultural Park in Palermo in Spring 2026 and one in Singapore in June 2026. For enquiries please contact Charles.

Previously Charles collaborated with the Goethe Institute in their Cities Ahead Academies  which had the same impulse in places as diverse such as Augsburg, Logrono, Bielsko-Biala, Essen and soon Bratislava.

All of these will seek to make the Residency experience better
